Advocating for Children with Love

Statement on Licensing and Qualifications for Visitation Supervisors

In the state of Georgia, there is currently no formal licensure or degree requirement to become a supervised visitation provider. However, to ensure the safety and well-being of families, providers are expected to complete professional training that meets court standards and demonstrates competency in child-focused visitation practices. At The Children’s Advocate, LLC, we uphold a high standard by offering a 12-hour training program designed to meet Georgia’s expectations for supervised visitation. This includes instruction on safety protocols, court compliance, documentation, conflict management, and trauma-informed care. While a professional license is not required, courts, attorneys, and agencies seek trained, neutral, and well-documented supervisors who understand both the emotional and legal complexities of working with families. Our goal is to prepare individuals to provide this critical service with integrity, consistency, and professionalism.
